A 65-year-old man crashed his car into a busy restaurant patio in Montrose Monday afternoon, though no one was injured, police said.

Many of the outdoor tables at Star Cafe were full shortly before 4 p.m., when the car came barreling down the sidewalk, taking out plants, light poles and tables before coming to rest in the Star Cafe patio on the 2200 block of Honolulu Avenue, said Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

A track team was running on Honolulu directly in front of the car before it came to rest.

Police believe a medical issue caused the driver, who was being evaluated at the scene, to crash.

Further details were not immediately available.
