Glendale police on the lookout for armed robbery suspect

Share

Glendale police are searching for a would-be robber caught on video pushing and pulling two employees at gunpoint at Barragan’s restaurant in Glendale earlier this month, police said.

Released on Tuesday, the surveillance video shows the masked man hopping over a brick wall behind the restaurant — located at 814 S. Central Ave. — before tiptoeing up to the back door just before 11 p.m. on Jan. 3.

Armed with a gun, the suspect grabs two kitchen workers and pushes them through the restaurant.

When a third employee sees what’s going on, he runs through the restaurant and out the back door — the same one through which the suspect entered.

Seconds later, the suspect comes out of the same door. After looking in the direction that the employee ran, the suspect walks away the other way.

No one was injured and nothing was stolen from the restaurant, according to Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

The suspect was described as 5 feet 10 and roughly 200 pounds. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, his face covered by a black-and-white face mask.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Glendale police at (818) 548-4911. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
