As part of a multimillion-dollar improvement project on the Foothill (210) Freeway, local commuters can expect closures of ramps in La Crescenta within the upcoming week.

As Caltrans workers resurface the freeway’s pavement, there will be several nightly closures of onramps and offramps between May 16 and 19, according to the Crescenta Valley Town Council.

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, there will be closures of the ramps at Lowell, La Crescenta and Pennsylvania avenues, as well as Ocean View Boulevard.

The closures will each last until 6 a.m. the following morning.

During the same evenings and early mornings, the eastbound 210 connector to the southbound Glendale (2) Freeway will be closed.

The work is part of a $148.5-million project that began in April of last year to improve nearly 10 miles of the freeway spanning from La Crescenta to Pasadena, according to Caltrans.

In addition to resurfacing pavement, crews will restripe traffic markers with thermoplastic paint and replace distressed concrete slabs, guardrails and concrete median barriers.

The work is being done by Chino Hills-based Flatiron West, Inc., and is expected to continue through the middle of 2018.

The Crescenta Valley Town Council’s website, thecvcouncil.com, is regularly updated with dates when upcoming freeway work is expected to impact local residents.
