Local chess club, student win first place at competition

All American Assn. Chess Club, based in Glendale, and one of its students recently won first place at the L.A. Super Chess Championships, in which more than 250 chess players participated.

Arina Baghdasaryan took home first-place honors at the contest. She is a student at Toll Middle School and has been a club member for a year.

The club’s high school team also brought home a first-place trophy.

All American Assn. Chess Club was founded by Nshan Keshishian in 1991. Currently, the club has more than 300 students involved in various after-school programs and club locations.
