A security guard at the Glendale Galleria fired a gun Saturday afternoon trying to stop an attempted robbery of a jewelry store, authorities said.

Police arrested multiple suspects, who entered the store with tools to break glass, said Glendale Police Sgt. Dan Suttles.

A mall guard nearby fired one round, and no one was reported wounded.

It is unclear if the suspects were armed.

“We don’t believe there’s any danger to public,” Suttles said. “This is not an active shooter.”
