Hoax bomb threat puts a pause in the school day at Hoover High

Share

A bomb threat called in to Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale Thursday morning was a hoax, police said.

The school was on a “soft” lockdown for less than an hour as police searched the campus after a caller, around 11:20 a.m., said the school would blow up in five minutes, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.

During the “soft” lockdown, students could reportedly move throughout the campus but weren’t allowed to leave. No evacuations were ordered.

School was back in session around noon, after authorities had cleared the campus.

Police are investigating who placed the phone call. Anyone with information can call authorities at (818) 548-4911.
