A woman was killed Monday night after she was struck by a Metrolink commuter train in Glendale, causing several delays in rail service through the area, officials said.

Police are investigating the death as a suicide, as witnesses reported seeing the woman duck under the downed crossing arms at San Fernando Road and Doran Street and sprint toward the train before stopping with her hands up, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.

The woman, who was not identified, appeared to be in her 40s or 50s.

No passengers were injured.

Several Metrolink lines were either canceled or delayed due to the collision, which was reported around 8 p.m.

“They’re going to be stopped there for a while,” William said.

Ventura County Line 910 to Los Angeles was canceled. Commuters were advised via Twitter to board Amtrack 11 instead.
