Letter: Biblical reference raises questions

Share

In her letter, Rachel Melikian writes many people believe that Yerevan was named by Noah!

As Noah was obviously not Armenian, it got me thinking, did he know Armenian beforehand? And if not, when did he learn the language? And did he know that the ark would land in Armenia beforehand?

Did he learn Armenian during the time in the ark? Did he have Rosetta Stone, Linguaphone, dictionaries or similar learning aids (because there were no Armenian teachers on board)? And finally, when he said, “It is revealed” (“Yerevats”), was he referring to the city itself, or to all the bloated bodies of the drowned citizenry?
