Letter: Porto family honor is well-deserved

I was so happy to read that the Porto family was recently honored by Glendale Memorial Hospital for their many contributions to the community.

In 2005 I was involved in a fundraiser for the victims of the mudslides in La Conchita. We were seeking food donations for a reception we were having and I approached Porto’s in Glendale and asked if they could help us out.

Betty Porto could not have been more gracious and generous. She provided a wide selection of appetizers and desserts and did not spare any expense. So glad that the community has “paid it forward” to the family. They deserve it.
