Letter: Reason for Glendale’s lack of space is clear

The City Council’s lament about Downtown South Glendale being “all built out ... no more room for new parks, etc.” conundrum is ironically virtually 100% thanks to the City Council’s earlier votes to develop practically all of South Glendale’s then-still open spaces, rather than use such lands for even one new medium-sized park (with the exception of the pre-existing Central Park, which is often closed for special events).

By the way, several years ago now, the council promised it was going to “team up” with Glendale High School and renovate its tennis courts on behalf of the tennis-playing younger set that would be, and has been, displaced by the council’s approved location for the Adult Recreation Center. Well, the last time I drove/walked by there, no such renovation has been done or is even underway, at least not per one’s view from the street.
