Toll Middle School on Tuesday unveiled a new mural titled “Hooray for Tollywood,” created by artist Randall Williams, who had worked on it since November.

The mural pays tribute to a major local industry, said Tom Crowther, principal at Toll.

“[It] brings to life the spirit of the arts and of Hollywood, an obvious staple of life in Southern California,” he said.

Toll’s parent foundation contributed roughly $4,000 to have the mural installed by Williams, who has painted several murals at schools in Burbank and Glendale.

“When he is in the zone, he works incredibly fast,” Crowther said. “He then might appear a day or two later with brush in hand and announce he wants to add a detail or two.”
