Banner season for the University of Washington-bound prospect. Grote was named the Pacific League Player of the Year and averaged 13 kills a match, including 22 and 17 in matches against Arcadia and 21 against Crescenta Valley as the Indians captured a league title.

Clutch player delivered several timely kills that led the Cougars to a CIF Southern Section Division IX Championship. The All-Liberty League pick finished with 281 kills, 259 digs, 53 aces and 13 blocks and earned All-CIF Southern Section Division IX recognition.

Megan Lund, Junior, Outside Hitter, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy

Longtime defensive specialist moved up front for a young Tologs squad and thrived as she earned a Mission League first-team selection and finished with a team-high 384 kills, 225 digs and 49 aces for 20-win Flintridge Sacred Heart.

Talented player and leader merited an All-CIF Southern Section Division VIII accolade in a wonderful season in which she also earned an All-Liberty League selection. Patterson paced the team in kills with 291, while adding 201 digs and 30 aces.

Paige Singleton, Senior, Outside Hitter, Glendale Adventist Academy

Team leader did just about everything for the Cougars in a magical season. The All-CIF Southern Section Division IX Player of the Year collected 212 kills, 209 digs, 55 aces and 11 blocks to help the Cougars win a CIF Southern Section Division IX championship, the school’s first-ever title.

La Cañada High sophomore Emily Weirick was selected to the All-Area Girls’ Volleyball First Team.

Emily Weirick, Sophomore, Outside hitter, La Cañada

Important player who formed dynamic one-two punch with Chloe Kerstein for Rio Hondo League champion Spartans. The All-Rio Hondo League first-team selection tallied 342 kills, 60 aces and 310 digs as La Cañada advanced to the Division IV quarterfinals.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Gared Luquet, Glendale Adventist Academy

Led the Cougars to new heights as the team won its school’s first CIF Southern Section crown when Glendale Adventist Academy captured the Division IX title. Glendale Adventist finished 24-6, 5-3 in league to tie for second in the Liberty League and advanced to the State Division V Southern California Regional Final. Luquet was named the All-CIF Southern Section Division IX Coach of the Year.
