All-Area Softball First Team

Tiffany Bartamian, Senior, Catcher, Glendale

Sometimes overlooked, Bartamian brought to a close a phenomenal four-year career as she notably drove in the game-winning run in Glendale’s CIF Southern Section wild-card postseason win, its first this century. An All-Pacific League second-team pick with first-team ability who batted .384 with 19 RBI, 17 runs, nine doubles and 15 walks.

Anysia Gonzalez, Junior, Outfielder, Burbank

First-team All-Pacific League player produced a .457 batting average that included 37 hits, five of them triples, while adding 21 runs and 18 RBI.

Peyton Hause, Sophomore, Infielder, Crescenta Valley

One of the core contributors for the Pacific League co-champions, the All-Pacific League first-team pick produced mega league numbers that included a .633 batting average, 31 RBI, 15 doubles and 19 runs.

Alyssa Hernandez, Sophomore, Infielder, Crescenta Valley

Cal State Fullerton-committed player was an All-Pacific League first-team pick, who batted .537 with 24 runs, 24 RBI, five home runs and seven doubles in league play.

Brianna Johnson, Senior, Utility, Burroughs

Once again one of the Indians’ top run producers as she knocked in 24 runs and scored 27 en route to first-team All-Pacific League honors for co-league champs. Notched a .342 batting average and 27 hits, including four home runs.

Lauren Lopez, Senior, Infielder, Burroughs

Team-highs of 45 hits and 30 runs went along with a .500 batting average, 19 runs and eight doubles during a first-team All-Pacific League season.

Pacific League Pitcher of the Year had another fine season in the circle and her best at the plate. In the circle, was 19-5 with a 2.58 earned-run average over 144 innings with 165 strikeouts to 29 walks. On the other side of the ball, hit .533 (40 for 75) with five runs, 34 RBI and 13 extra-base hits, including four triples.

Amanda Ramirez, Sophomore, Infielder, Flintridge Sacred Heart

Another excellent season was had by the shortstop, as the All-Mission League second-team honoree batted .393 (24 for 61) with 35 runs, 19 walks, a .580 on-base percentage, 10 doubles and 17 runs batted in.

Rio Hondo League Most Valuable Pitcher was dominant again in league action with a sterling 12-0 record that included a 0.212 earned-run average with 102 strikeouts versus only 12 walks over 66 innings. Stoner allowed five totals runs in league, only two of which were earned.

Emily Tinkham, Sophomore, Infielder, La Cañada

Among the top talents in the area, the Rio Hondo League Most Valuable Player batted .441 in 12 league games with an amazing 1.495 on-base plus slugging percentage that included four home runs, 20 runs and 16 runs batted in.

Payton Tompkins, Junior, Outfielder, Flintridge Sacred Heart

Like many of her Tologs teammates was overlooked despite a sensational offensive season as she hit .429 (30 for 70) with 23 runs, 23 RBI and a .488 on-base percentage.

Rangy center fielder turned in an absolutely amazing Pacific League campaign as the league co-player of the year hit .800 over 14 league games with 36 hits in 45 at-bats, eight extra-base hits, 23 runs, 17 RBI and struck out just once.

Cate Ziegler, Freshman, Utility, Flintridge Sacred Heart

Playing catcher and infielder, turned in an outstanding freshman campaign with a .467 (28 for 60) batting average along with 27 runs, 31 RBI, nine extra-base hits and a .598 on-base percentage.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Amanda Peek, Crescenta Valley

Once an All-Area Softball Player of the Year who produced Pacific League titles on the field for the Falcons, Peek navigated the program back to the top of the league as Crescenta Valley earned a share of its first Pacific League championship since 2011. The Falcons finished 21-8-1 and 12-2 in league and, in the process, snapped Burroughs’ 22-game league winning streak. Thereafter, the Falcons picked up their first playoff win since 2014 and advanced to the second round for the first time since 2009.
