Estrada’s struggles continue on mound

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marco Estrada, a former Glendale Community College player, didn’t factor into the decision in Toronto’s 7-6 road loss against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday.

The right-hander went 2 2/3 innings, yielding four runs (all earned) on five hits and four walks in a 94-pitch outing.

Toronto scored three runs in the first inning before Detroit scored three in the bottom of the frame.

Estrada is 4-6 with a 5.33 earned-run average.

“I obviously do have to command the ball a little bit better. Especially my off-speed stuff,” Estrada told mlb.com. “I’ve been struggling with my changeup. Today, I didn’t really throw too many for strikes.”
