Sports Roundup: Glendale Community College baseball wins wild one at Victor Valley

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Glendale Community College 14, Victor Valley College 13: Visiting Glendale posted a Western State Conference East Division victory Tuesday.

Glendale (21-5-1, 6-1-1 in the division) got four hits from Frankie Garriola and three apiece from Matt Colomes and NJ Omoruyi. Colomes and Omoruji each drove in a run in the eighth inning, when the Vaqueros scored three runs to take a 14-13 lead

MEN’S TENNIS

Glendale Community College 9, L.A. Pierce College 0: Glendale rolled to a Western State Conference home victory Tuesday.

The Vaqueros (12-6, 8-2 in conference) got singles wins from Christian Hess (6-1, 6-2), Chris Pope (6-0, 6-0), Arin Meserkhani (6-4, 6-4), Kevin Orellana (6-2, 6-2), John Robertson (6-0, 6-0) and Stephen Sandoval (6-0, 6-0).

In doubles, Glendale received victories from Pope and Hess (8-0), Hrant Agakhanyan and Chris Ghadimi (8-4) and Robertson and Masaki Kimura (8-2).

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

College of the Canyons 19, 11, Glendale Community College 3, 2: Glendale fell twice Tuesday in a Western State Conference road doubleheader. The Vaqueros are 6-14, 2-5 in conference.

SOFTBALL

Flintridge Prep 15, Mark Keppel 5: Flintridge Prep (4-3) picked up a nonleague road win Tuesday. The Rebels received three hits and three runs batted in each from Olivia Stevens and Libby Penn and two hits and three RBI from Maya Vasquez.

Alemany 10, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 3: The Tologs started Mission League play Tuesday at home with a defeat. Flintridge Sacred Heart is 9-2.BOYS’ TENNISLoyola 16, St. Francis 2: The host Golden Knights dropped a Mission League match Tuesday at Scholl Canyon Tennis Center.

Arcadia 17, Crescenta Valley 1: The Falcons suffered their first Pacific League defeat Tuesday. Crescenta Valley dipped to 6-3, 5-1 in league.

Alemany 3, St. Francis 0: St. Francis fell, 25-19, 25-22, 25-15, on Tuesday in a Mission League road match.
