Glendale Community College at Western State Conference Preview Meet: The one-two punch of Raymond Lopez and Paulo Vasquez led the way Friday at Citrus College, leading to the Vaqueros winning with 32 points.
Second-place Bakersfield was far behind with 109 points.
Lopez claimed victory in the 4-mile run in 21 minutes, 1.00 second, with Vasquez taking second in 22:01.5. Philip Thomas was fourth in 22:22.5 and rounding out the scoring five were Akol Malong (12th) and Antonio Arroyo (13th) in 22:54.7 and 22:55.7, respectively.
WOMEN’S CROSS-COUNTRY
Glendale Community College at Western State Conference Preview Meet: Angelica Salas ran to victory Friday at Citrus College, but Glendale finished second.
In the 5-kilometer run, Salas finished first in 19 minutes 9.2 seconds, while Ventura won with 46 points, followed by Glendale with 51 points.
Jennifer Cazares was eighth in 20:47.7, followed by Fiona Faulkner (14th, 21:44.5), Genesis Siam-Alvarez (15th, 21:49.6) and Nona Boyajyan (17th, 21:51.1).

Santa Barbara City College 3, Glendale Community College 0: Tough times continued for the Vaqueros with Friday’s nonconference loss at home. GCC dropped to 1-6-2 as it lost its second in a row and is now winless over its final six matches.

Bakersfield College 3, Glendale Community College 0: The Vaqueros lost on the road Friday, 25-9, 25-11, 25-15, to fall to 2-9 with their sixth consecutive loss.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 267, Alemany 285: The Tologs picked up a Mission League win Thursday at Brookside Golf Course No. 1 in Pasadena. Flintridge Sacred Heart received 15-over-par 51s from Shanley Galanto and Skye Henry.
