Sports Roundup: Flintridge Sacred Heart volleyball wins SoCal tourney

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in the Hudl Southern California Invitational: The Tologs turned in a tremendous effort at Saturday’s tournament in San Diego.

The Tologs finished off an impressive 7-0 run to win the tournament’s Division II title in a field of over 80 opponents.

Senior libero Maddie Perneccky was named the Hudl Tournament Most Valuable Player and junior opposite Megan Lund was named to the all-tournament team.

Lund finished the tournament with 57 kills, 38 digs and 12 aces, while Pernecky tallied 65 digs. Emily Smith added 33 kills for the Tologs (14-12), who went a fantastic 9-0 this past week. Julia Powers added 31 kills, Ellis DeJardin contributed 10 aces and 24 digs and Cate Doud finshed with 159 assists.
