Sports Roundup: Crescenta Valley boys’ soccer shuts out Glendale for league win
BOYS’ SOCCER
Crescenta Valley 3, Glendale 0: Jesus Pena, Dallas Kaauwai and Ayden Blackwood scored goals Tuesday to spark the host Falcons to a Pacific League win. Blackwood added an assist for the Falcons (1-0-1 in league).
Glendale dipped to 0-1-1 in league.
Saugus 2, St. Francis 0: The host Golden Knights (3-2-1) dropped a consolation match Saturday in the Ralph Brandt Tournament.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Glendale 4, Mark Keppel 0: The Nitros (3-2-1) received two goals from Ella Wasson on Tuesday to pick up a nonleague road win. Taylor Puno and Gisele Navarro also scored for Glendale.
Glendale split a pair of matches in the Lynwood Tournament on Saturday. The Nitros earned a 1-1 tie against Lynwood and suffered an 8-0 defeat against La Habra.
Harvard-Westlake 3, Flintridge Prep 1: The Rebels suffered a defeat Saturday in the Aliso Cup. Flintridge Prep earlier dropped a 2-1 decision to El Dorado.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Crescenta Valley 96, Heritage Christian 89: Arman Pezeshkian finished with a team-high 38 points and Christopher Araoumanian added 35 on Monday to lift the Falcons (3-2) to a victory in the Warrior Classic at Alemany High.
Araoumanian had 10 three-pointers and Pezeshkian finished with seven.
The Falcons fell, 89-72, to Calabasas on Saturday in a tournament contest.
Hoover 90, Pioneer 85: Hoover (3-5) posted a victory Saturday in the Artesia Tournament.
Yeshiva 63, Flintridge Prep 53: The visiting Rebels (3-5) suffered a nonleague defeat Saturday. Flintridge Prep received 10 points from Jonathan Le and eight from Jack Cartwright.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Flintridge Prep 56, Westridge 35: Mandy Manning finished with 21 points and Alex Kyriakakis added 10 on Monday to lead the visiting Rebels to a Prep League-opening victory. Flintridge Prep improved to 4-3.
Crescenta Valley 79, West Adams 19: Crescenta Valley (6-2) picked up a win Saturday at the Burroughs Tournament.
Glendale 59, St. Joesph’s 50: Glendale (6-4) posted a victory Saturday in the Burroughs Tournament.
Holy Martyrs 45, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 38: The Tologs (1-8) fell Saturday in the Pasadena Poly Tournament.
Chavez 37, St. Monica Academy 30: The Crusaders (3-3) lost Saturday in a Vaughn Tournament game.

Pasadena Poly 16, Flintridge Prep 2: Flintridge Prep dropped a Prep League home match Monday.
