GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Arcadia 3, Crescenta Valley 2: Battling to force a first-place tie in the Pacific League, Crescenta Valley gave archrival Arcadia all it could handle, but lost on the road Thursday, 24-26, 17-25, 25-14, 25-23, 15-8.

Crescenta Valley, which is the only league team to take first-place Arcadia (7-0 in league) to five games, dropped to 8-8, 5-2 in league.

Alverno 3, Holy Family 2: The Gaels lost a thrilling Liberty League road match, 25-14, 10-25, 25-16, 16-25, 15-12 on Thursday afternoon.

Mikayla DePeralta tallied 25 digs and three assists for Holy Family (5-10, 1-3 overall), while Jasmine Moreno totaled six blocks and five kills and Michelle Barraza added 10 assists, two blocks and two kills.

Arcadia 3, Glendale 0: The Nitros had their struggles against the Pacific League leaders on Tuesday and fell on the road, 25-14, 5-6, 25-17.

Milken Community 3, Glendale Adventist 1: Despite winning their first set, the Cougars lost a Liberty League road match in Los Angeles, 25-27, 25-23, 25-19, 25-21, on Tuesday afternoon. Glendale Adventist dipped to 3-5, 0-2 in league.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

La Serna 12, Crescenta Valley 7: The Falcons (4-5) fell Thursday in a Villa Park Tournament match. Crescenta Vallet received from Reagan Hesse.

Crescenta Valley posted a 14-10 nonleague win against El Segundo on Wednesday at Pasadena City College. Hesse finished with eight goals, Matthew Ynda collected two and goalkeeper Hakop Artsvelian collected nine saves.

Glendale 17, Alhambra 0: The Nitros (5-3) posted a nonleague road win Thursday.

Glendale suffered a 21-6 nonleague road defeat Tuesday against Santa Monica.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Crescenta Valley 12, Burroughs 6: The Falcons played the Indians for the second time in three days and produced the same exact result.

Crescenta Valley improved to 6-4, 5-2 in the Pacific League with the win at home.

Marlborough 15, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 3: The Tologs fell Thursday in a Mission League contest. Flintridge Sacred Heart dropped to 2-8, 0-3 in league.

Arcadia 18, Hoover 0: It was rough sledding for the Tornadoes, who fell in Pacific League road action Tuesday afternoon.

GIRLS’ GOLF

Alemany 262, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 286: Shanley Galanto carded an 11-over-par 47 on Thursday for the Tologs in a Mission League match at Hansem Dam Golf Course.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

L.A. Mission College 3, Glendale Community College 1: Host Glendale (3-11) saw L.A. Mission record a 22-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23 nonconference win Wednesday.
