Sports Roundup: Flintridge Prep boys’ soccer closes out Prep League outright title

BOYS’ SOCCER

Flintridge Prep 3, Pasadena Poly 0: Ramzi Beshir scored a pair of goals and Andrew Lathrop had two assists as the Rebels won Wednesday afternoon to claim an outright Prep League championship.

Garrett Gaines also scored a goal and Tim Treinen had an assist for the Rebels (10-1-1, 5-1 in league), while Aidan Schraeder tallied seven saves for the shutout in goal.

It was the Rebels’ first league title since 2005.

St. Francis 4, Alemany 0: St. Francis closed out the regular season Wednesday with a Mission League home victory. St. Francis (10-7-4, 5-5-2 in league) received two goals from Michael Guzman and one each from Riley Baz and Colton Ramirez.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 68, St. Francis 62: St. Francis dropped a Mission League contest Wednesday. St. Francis dipped to 14-11, 3-8 in league.

International School of L.A. 61, St. Monica Academy 48: The Crusaders lost an International League contest Wednesday. St. Monica fell to 7-15, 6-7 in league.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Harvard-Westlake 11, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 3: The Tologs lost in the semifinals of the Mission League Tournament on Wednesday afternoon. The Tologs are 11-10, 4-4 in league.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Chaminade 5, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 2: The Tologs were dealt a Mission League loss in their season finale on the road Wednesday as they allowed a season-high five goals.

Flintridge Sacred Heart is 9-6-1, 3-5 in league.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Barstow College 95, Glendale Community College 91: Visiting Glendale suffered a Western State Conference East Division defeat Wednesday. The Vaqueros fell to 12-12, 2-5 in the division.
