Sports Roundup: Glendale basketball wins at Arroyo Tournament

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Glendale 65, Arroyo 53: The Nitros (7-6) picked up a victory Wednesday in the Arroyo Tournament.

Royal 55, Flintridge Prep 48: Shooting just nine of 22 from the free throw line, the Rebels lost their second game in as many days at the Santa Barbara Tournament on Wednesday.

Flintridge Prep (7-2) was led by Dante Fregoso’s 11 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Jake Althouse and Jacob Brawer each scored nine points and Kendall Kikkawa added eight.

Trinity Classical Academy 62, St. Francis 57: The Golden Knights lost Wednesday at home in the DI Bound Southern California Christmas Classic Tournament.

The Golden Knights are now 3-10.

North Hollywood 94, Hoover 49: Hoover (3-9) fell Wednesday in a MaxPreps holiday Tournament contest. The Tornadoes dropped a 58-56 contest against Antelope Valley on Tuesday.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Monrovia 36, Hoover 30: The Tornadoes fell in the Glendora Tournament on Tuesday, dropping to 1-8.

Village Christian 55, Holy Family 28: The Gaels lost on Tuesday in the Grant Tournament, falling to 1-7.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Chaffey 5, Glendale 2: The Nitros dropped to 1-5 with Wednesday’s loss at the La Canada Tournament in the seventh-place game.

San Dieguito Academy 3, St. Francis 2: The Golden Knights lost Tuesday in the Oceanside Tournament, falling to 2-4-1.
