Sports Roundup: Hoover water polo continues dominant league run

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Hoover 28, Pasadena 3: Host Hoover received a balanced scoring attack to pick up a Pacific League win Thursday. The Tornadoes (5-0 in league) got three goals each from Levon Tarverdov, David Ashkharian, Aren Sukiasyan, Harout Ashkharian, Haik Gukasyan and Haik L. Gukasyan.

Crescenta Valley 13, Burbank 11: David Komjathy finished with nine goals Thursday to lift the visiting Falcons to a Pacific League win. Reagan Hesse contributed three goals for Crescenta Valley, which got eight saves from goalkeeper Hakop Artsvelian. The Falcons are 11-12, 3-2 in league.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Flintridge Prep 15, Firebaugh 3: The visiting Rebels picked up a Prep League road win Thursday at Lynwood Park. They are 6-3 in league.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Pasadena Poly 3, Flintridge Prep 1: Courtney Johnson finished with 11 kills on Thursday for the host Rebels, who saw the Panthers post a 25-18, 25-13, 23-25, 25-12 Prep League win. Taylor Yoshida had 17 digs for the Rebels, who got nine kills and three aces from Jada Gritton.

La Salle 3, Flintridge Sacred Heart 0: The Tologs lost a nonleague home match Tuesday evening, 25-22, 25-22, 25-10.

Kayla Lund tallied 13 kills and 11 digs for the Tologs (18-8), while Ellis DeJardin totaled 11 kills and Cate Doud and Colleen Clapp finished with 15 assists each.

Arcadia 3, Hoover 0: The Tornadoes fell, 25-0, 25-11, 25-12 in a Pacific League home match Tuesday afternoon.

With the defeat, Hoover dropped to 2-18-1 and 0-9 in league.
