Rain expected to hit region on Sunday

A low-pressure system along the coast could bring rain to the Los Angeles area as early as Sunday morning, the National Weather Service said Friday.

“There’s also going to be a cold front with that,” said Scott Sukup, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, told the L.A. Times. “The amount of rain will vary between a quarter-inch to three-quarters of an inch with higher amounts in the foothills.”

Snow could start falling at levels of 6,000 feet Saturday night and 4,000 feet Sunday, Sukup said.

Lingering clouds will also bring a 20% chance of rain in the Glendale-Pasadena region on Monday, according to the weather service.
