Glendale police on Monday arrested a man who allegedly shot another man twice in the upper torso and led officers on a brief pursuit, officials said.

The victim, whose name wasn’t immediately available, was taken just after 2 p.m. to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center after being shot in the 100 block of East Glenoaks Boulevard, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

“He is alive and conscious,” he added.

The alleged shooter, whose name wasn’t available, was arrested after leading police on a short pursuit and then crashing in the 1000 block of Rosedale Avenue, Lorenz said.

The alleged shooter apparently knew the victim, according to Lorenz. The shooting occurred near Total Wellness Center -- an acupuncture, health and spiritual living facility.
