The occupant of a car that went over the side of the Angeles Forest Highway at Mt. Gleason road around 8 a.m. today likely died in the crash, according an official at the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station, which responded to the crash this morning.

Lt. Angela Shepherd said that while she didn’t have many details, early reports indicated that the vehicle went off the side of the highway with one occupant inside. She said the coroner was en route to determine if it was a fatality.

“I can’t confirm [a death], but probably,” she said. “There was one person in the vehicle. [Officers at the scene are] saying it was an accident.”

The site of the accident is approximately 14 miles north from where the highway splits off from Angeles Crest Highway.
