A slow-speed pursuit of a AAA tow truck ended Tuesday night in Glendale.

The 2 1/2 hour chase began in Van Nuys after a person in the tow truck got into an argument with Los Angeles police officers, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The truck traversed through Hollywood and Los Feliz before stopping in Glendale, where Glendale police officers arrested the driver, who has not yet been identified, around 6:40 p.m mid-block on Mountain Street, just east of Brand Boulevard

Glendale police were concerned that the driver would enter the Americana or Glendale Galleria when he entered the city, said Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz.

Lorenz said the suspect came to Glendale because he knew someone who lived in the city.

“He wanted to give up here in Glendale,” he said. “He came here for a reason.”

Lorenz said Glendale police turned the case over to LAPD after they apprehended the suspect.

The pursuit is the sixth one in Glendale in the past three weeks, Lorenz added.

“We caught all of them,” he said.
