Triple-digit temperatures to hit region
It may be the first day of October, but scorching, record-breaking temperatures Monday will remind Southern Californians that summer isn’t over yet.
“It’s going to be a hot day,” said David Sweet, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.
Triple-digit temperatures were expected for much of the Southland, about 20 degrees hotter than what is normal for this time of year, Sweet said.
The warmest weather will be in the valleys, with a high of 108 degrees predicted for Woodland Hills and 105 degrees in Burbank and Pasadena, Sweet said.
