Three bobcats spotted in backyard of La Crescenta home

Three bobcats were spotted sleeping in the backyard of a home Tuesday evening.

Initial reports stated that it was three mountain loins that had been spotted.

Sgt. Gary Ogurek of the sheriff's Crescenta Valley Station told KTLA-TV that a resident spotted the animals in the 5300 block of Pineridge Drive and called deputies at 5:24 p.m.

From the description, he thinks it was a mother with two nearly grown offspring.

Deputies notified Fish & Game and called for a helicopter.

Deputies also resorted to a low tech approach to send the animals back up the hill.

"They used pots and pans and the critters decided it wasn't a good place to sleep. We try to improvise," Ogurek said.
