A 34-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after he allegedly demanded cash and pounded on the car of a woman who was buying milk at a 7-Eleven store in Glendale, police said.

Dennis Perry of Glendale was taken into custody about 11:10 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of robbery after he allegedly yelled at the 41-year-old woman to give him money, according to Glendale police reports.

The woman went to 7-Eleven with her 15-year-old and pulled into the store parking lot in the 400 block of East Broadway, where Perry went up to her driver’s window, knocked and asked her for money to buy food, according to police.

When she told him no, Perry allegedly yelled, pounded his fist on her window, then walked to the passenger side and did the same thing.

She was scared and began honking her car horn to get someone’s attention, police said.

That’s when Perry walked away, but not before allegedly kicking her car door, police said.
