Cool temperatures, chance of rain through the weekend

Cloudy skies will bring cooler temperatures and a chance of rain in the tri-city region starting Thursday and into the weekend, weather forecaster say.

Remember when temperatures were in the 90s just a few short days ago?

“It will be much cooler,” Dave Bruno, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, told the Los Angeles Times.

The first round of rain should taper off by mid-morning, but there will “basically be a chance of rain at any given moment” through Saturday, he said.

Forecasters expected less than a quarter-inch in most areas, along with blustery winds.

“It’s not going to rain all day,” Bruno said. “But we’ll be threatened with showers at any time.”

The chance of rain in the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena region will persist into the weekend, according to the weather service. There’s a 60% chance on Thursday, and 50% on Friday and Saturday before tapering off overnight.

Temperatures, meanwhile, should stay in the 60-degree range until the weekend, Bruno said.

The cooler weather should be a welcome relief for those who complained of the record-setting, mid-90s temperatures the region saw at the beginning of the week.
