A 54-year-old Glendale woman told police two men appeared to work together in following her into an apartment building to snatch her purse, police said.

The woman had just parked her car and was walking home about 11:05 p.m. Tuesday on the 600 block of East Elk Avenue while carrying a laptop and purse, according to the Glendale Police Department.

After passing by a man who was staring at her, she looked back and noticed he was following her, police said. Soon after, a second man appeared.

The first man followed her into the apartment building, ran toward her and grabbed her purse so hard its strap broke, police said.

She followed the man as he ran out of the building and joined the second man, but she was unable to catch up to them.

Her purse contained credit cards, a wallet, an identification card, checkbook and iPhone.

The first man was described as black, about 6 foot 1 inches tall, roughly 200 pounds, and as being about 35 years old. He was clean shaven.

The woman described the second man as black, about 6 foot 2 inches tall and with a medium build.

Both men were wearing a black hooded sweater and black pants.
