Circus camel’s escape onto Glendale street caught on tape

Share

Atula the camel made quite a scene on Glendale Boulevard on Friday.

The Ramos Bros. circus from Mexico was in Glendale for a performance when Atula decided to make a run for it.

Bystanders took photos and a video as the camel trotted down Glendale Boulevard, being chased by handlers. KCBS-TV broadcast images of the one-block pursuit.

Atula was eventually captured near a Mobile station and walked back to the circus, where officials said she performed as normal, according to the L.A. Times.

Witness Diana Madison told KCBS that cars were stopped and people were shocked.

“It was complete chaos,” she told the station.
