UC Irvine outside hitter Kevin Tillie has been National Player of the Week by the American Volleyball Coaches Assn. after helping the Anteaters to victories over then-No. 6 Pepperdine and No. 5 USC last week.
Against the Waves on Wednesday, Tillie had 13 kills and hit .478 while adding five digs for the No. 2-ranked Anteaters.
Two days later against USC, he had a team-high 18 kills while hitting .567. The junior transfer from Thompson Rivers University in Canada, had just one error in the match, while adding three block assists.
For the week, Tillie hit .528 while averaging 3.88 kills, 4.19 points and one dig per game. He committed just three attack errors over eight games.
