Water Polo: Gilchrist, Team USA into title match

The U.S. women's senior national water polo team, which features Newport Harbor High and USC alumna Kaleigh Gilchrist, will play for gold at the FINA World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.

Team USA got past China, 11-4, in the semifinals on Saturday. Maggie Steffens scored four goals in the win, while Ashleigh Johnson made 11 saves for the Americans, who took a 7-0 halftime lead.

The United States, the defending World Cup champions, will play rival Australia in the final Sunday at 6:30 a.m. Pacific time. The game is a rematch of the 2010 World Cup final, won by the United States, 6-3.

Sunday morning's final is scheduled to be webcast live through FINA TV.
