Program offered for English learners

Share

I was delighted to read Liana Aghajanian’s recent article informing your readers of the English-as-a-second language class offered through Glendale Community College’s non-credit Continuing Education division (“It’s never too late to tackle English,” Dec. 13). After all, a common language binds us together as a community and a nation.

The Glendale Public Library has had a literacy program since 1988. Last year, some 4,755 hours of instruction by trained volunteers was given to English learners. The program also offers classes to prepare students for General Educational Development testing.

You can learn more about the program by contacting them via e-mail at literacy@glandalepubliclibrary.org.
