A 27-year-old Glendale man was beaten and robbed Friday by a man who appeared at his parents’ home shortly after the victim hired a prostitute from a classified ads website, police said.
Police found the man in a pool of blood on the driveway of his parents' home in the 1200 block of Spazier Avenue. He was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank for treatment.
No one has been arrested in connection with the assault and robbery, according to Glendale police.
The man, whose identity wasn’t released, was “lonely” and desired the company of a woman because he had recently divorced his wife, police said.
Via a free classifieds website, he invited a woman to the backhouse of his parents' home to engage in “intimate acts,” police said.
Once the woman, whose identity is unknown, arrived, he allegedly paid her $100 and they began drinking alcohol.
At some point, she stopped him and asked him for more money, which he declined.
About the same time, his sister walked into the backhouse and advised him there was a man standing at the main home’s front door.
He approached the man who allegedly punched him. The victim told police he only recalled waking up to find himself laying at the end of the driveway.
His sister told police that she and the woman began fighting. She allegedly ripped off the woman’s earrings.
The man’s sister later ran to a neighbor’s home, where she pleaded for help and money because she feared the man and woman were going to kill her brother, police said.
The man and woman fled before police arrived. The pair allegedly stole the victim’s wallet, which contained $800 and debit cards. His sister’s new iPhone was also stolen.
The victim described the woman as black, 5 foot 6 inches tall, about 23 years old, and with long dark hair. The man was described as black, bald, about 25 years old and 5 foot 9 inches tall.
They were last seen in a gray or silver four-door Cadillac CTS driving southbound on Spazier toward Glenwood Road.
