La Cañada resident gets married

David and Carolyn Styler of La Cañada Flintridge announce the wedding of their daughter Lauren Virginia Styler to Rolando Francisco Vargas.

Vargas is the son of Edgar and Maria Vargas of Costa Rica.

Styler is a 2006 graduate of La Cañada High School and a 2010 honors graduate of the University of Missouri where she earned bachelor’s degrees in broadcast journalism and Spanish. She works for Media General’s CBS affiliate in Mobile, Ala., as a weekend anchor and reporter.

Vargas graduated with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Costa Rica Institute of Technology. He is employed as a software developer for Trax Technologies.

The couple married on Sept. 3. The wedding and reception were held at Verandas in Manhattan Beach. The couple now live in Mobile.
