Glendale resident critically injured in Edison shooting
Glendale resident Angela Alvarez, 46, was one of the workers critically injured Friday in shooting at a Southern California Edison office in Irwindale and she remains in the hospital in stable but critical condition, according to company officials.
The incident left three dead, including the shooter, Andre Turner, 48 of Norco, an Edison employee who turned the gun on himself after shooting four people.
He fatally shot managers Robert Scott Lindsay, 53, of Chino Hills, and Henry Serrano, 56, of Walnut.
Edison spokesman David Song said Alvarez was a supervisor, but he did not know if she supervised Turner.
A contract worker, Abhay Pimpale, 38, of Montebello, was also injured and released from the hospital on Saturday afternoon, Song said.
Edison is providing grief counselors for affected employees and families.
“We’ll have them as long as the employees need them,” Song said.
Southern California Edison also established an in-house fund to support the families impacted by the shooting. Its parent company, Edison International, will donate $100,000 to seed the fund and will match employee contributions, Song said.
