That’s a long way for the remains ofthe Top 40 radio icon to travel, especially given the fact that according to his three eldest children he wanted to be buried at Forest Lawn in Glendale. Two of Glendale’s elected city officials may go head to head in a race for the state Assembly’s 43rd District in 2016, both of them having created finance committees to possibly run for the post currently held by Assemblyman Mike Gatto (D-Silver Lake). A group of Magnolia Park merchants has asked Burbank officials to crack down on parking enforcement and add tougher parking restrictions on their block, arguing that customer traffic has suffered due to a local cafe “monopolizing” area parking. Burbank Leader

A 79-year-old La Cañada man who went missing Saturday evening has been returned home safely to his family, according to Lt. Randy Tuinstra of the Los Angles County Sheriff’s Crescenta Valley station. Donald Warner, who officials said has dementia, was the subject of a hunt that included a helicopter that hovered over the city between approximately 9:15 and 9:30 p.m., employing a bullhorn to advise the man to dial 9-1-1.
