-- Construction of a 70-unit affordable housing project for local artists got underway in downtown Glendale Tuesday following a groundbreaking ceremony.

-- As Glendale school officials prepare to meet with La Cañada school officials next week over the Sagebrush territory, Glendale Unified Supt. Dick Sheehan reminded residents that Glendale’s proposal over the territory is still active during a school board meeting on Tuesday.

-- Arson investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are searching for suspects captured on video deliberately setting fire to a La Crescenta business early Monday that caused an estimated $450,000 in damages.

-- Hazardous materials crews were investigating two envelopes containing a white substance that arrived at the Burbank Courthouse on Wednesday addressed to two judges, authorities said.

-- Although burglaries continue to occur in the Foothills — including three reported in the past week — four suspects have been arrested in connection with their possible involvement in local break-ins during recent months, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Crescenta Valley station.

-- Police are looking for a man who led officers on a car chase while driving a stolen vehicle early Wednesday morning.
