FOR THE RECORD: A previous version of this story identified the hotel as the JP Allen Extended Stays, which is adjacent to the Days Inn.
_______________

Police were called to the hotel, located on the 400 block of Pioneer Drive, after a body was discovered in a room, said Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

Details on the identity of the deceased or the cause of death were not immediately known.

Around 9:30 p.m., investigators were waiting for coroner’s officials to arrive.

The investigation occurred just a day after a 62-year-old man barricaded himself in a room at the same hotel for more than two hours after firing a single gunshot. He subsequently surrendered and was arrested on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm.

Police said the two incidents are unrelated.
