Carl F. Graas, Jr.

Carl F. Graas Jr., Glendale native and long-time merchant, passed away in Santa

Barbara on October 21. Carl was born in 1923 to Carl and Adele Graas, attended

Hoover High School and Pomona College. He served in the 100th Infantry Division,

fighting in France and Germany in 1944-1945.

Carl married Garland Harton in 1948. They have one son and three daughters. Carl was a long-time partner in C.F. Graas Floor Coverings, established by his father in 1921.

Carl was a member of the Glendale Rotary Club, serving as president in 1983. He was also involved in the Glendale YMCA, Junior Chamber of Commerce and Cub Scouts.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Garland Graas, daughters Anne Graas, Laura Fariss and Martha Krauss, son Bill Graas, granddaughters Julia and Hannah Fariss and grandson John Graas. A private memorial service is planned in Santa Barbara.
