Crescenta Valley girls’ soccer wins ninth in a row

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Crescenta Valley 5, Pasadena 2: The Falcons got two goals from Lisa Kang and a pair of assists from Sarah Worden in Wednesday’s Pacific League road victory — its ninth win in a row.

Sierra Rhoads, Ani Hemelians and Rachel Bird also had goals, while Katie Callister, Whitley Boller and Tiffany Austin had assists.

Crescenta Valley (9-2-1, 6-0 in league), which allowed its first two goals of league play, is now solely in first place after Burroughs defeated Arcadia, 1-0, on Wednesday.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 2, Notre Dame 2: The Tologs vaulted out to a two-goal lead on scores from Krista Meaglia (assisted by Hannah Armendariz) and Hailey James (assisted by Sarah Teegarden) in the 44th and 45th minutes, but Notre Dame rallied for two scores to force the Mission League tie on Wednesday at Occidental College.

Sacred Heart (10-1-3, 2-1-1) also got a season-high 13 saves from goalie Dani Garcia.

Burbank 4, Hoover 0: Goalkeeper Arianna Solis made six saves Wednesday for the visiting Tornadoes in a Pacific League match. Hoover fell to 1-6, 1-5 in league.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Hoover 2, Burbank 2: Argin Haghoubian scored a pair of goals Wednesday for the host Tornadoes in a Pacific League match at Toll Middle School. Hoover is 2-5-2, 1-4-1 in league.

Muir 8, Glendale 2: The visiting Nitros fell Wednesday in a Pacific League game. Glendale fell to 2-4 in league.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

St. Francis 61, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 53: Kyle Leufroy finished with 20 points Wednesday to spark the visiting Golden Knights to a Mission League victory. St. Francis (11-8, 1-4 in league) got 15 points from Evan Crawford and 12 from Markar Agakanian.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Burbank 56, Hoover 27: Melissa Manouki, Luna Panosian and Caitlyn Teng had five points apiece Wednesday for the Tornadoes in a Pacific League road contest. Hoover dropped to 1-11, 0-6 in league.

Pasadena 50, Crescenta Valley 45: The visiting Falcons suffered a Pacific League defeat Wednesday. Crescenta Valley fell to 8-11, 3-3 in league.

Louisville 55, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 38: Jenna Tran had 12 points Tuesday for the Tologs in a Mission League game. Dana Budzyn finished with seven points for Flintridge Sacred Heart (9-10, 0-3 in league).
