Crescenta Valley PTA: ‘Walk and Talk’ event to be presented weekly

A “Walk and Talk” event will be held every Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Crescenta Valley Park, 3901 Dunsmore Ave., La Crescenta.

This is an opportunity for parents to come together and discuss family communication as well as encourage children’s growth and independence and friendships. Participants should meet at the county building and wear walking shoes.

This event is sponsored by CV Alliance and Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services. For more information, email info@cv-alliance.org.

The next “Parent Resource” workshop will be held on from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 18 at the Crescenta-Cañada YMCA, 1930 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada. The topic will be “The Truth about Parenting You’ve Never Heard.”

Valley View Elementary

The next PTA meeting will be held Thursday night. Contact the office for more information.

La Crescenta Elementary

Founders Day will be held at 6 p.m. on Feb. 11 in the cafetorium. At the event, the 100-year anniversary of the school’s PTA will be celebrated.

Dunsmore Elementary

From 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the school will participate in the “Jump Rope for Heart” activity on the track, weather permitting. The event, sponsored by the American Heart Assn., promotes community service while educating students about the importance of heart health. Students can sign up online by visiting www.heart.org/jump to get started saving lives.

Rosemont Middle School

Dine out from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Los Gringos Locos, 631 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada and 15% of your purchase will be donated to the school. Tell your server you are there for the dine-out night.
