Crescenta Valley soccer's Justin Wright commits to UC Davis

Crescenta Valley High boys’ soccer player Justin Wright, who finished with 52 points and earned All-Area first-team honors last season, verbally committed to UC Davis on Tuesday.

The senior midfielder, who finished with 18 goals and 16 assists last season, said Davis provided an ideal environment for him.

“It’s a perfect fit,” said Wright, who received All-CIF and All-Pacific League recognition after helping the Falcons qualify for the playoffs last season. “It all happened in a nine- or 10-day span.

“It’s a relief to have it taken care of. I went up there over the weekend and met with the coaching staff and I toured the campus. I’m so grateful that I will be able to play Division I soccer.”

Davis finished 9-9-3, 4-4-2 in the Big West Conference last season.
