Firefighters battle La Tuna Canyon brush fire

More than 350 emergency responders battled a brush fire in the La Tuna Canyon foothills Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Firefighters responded to the 9300 block of La Tuna Canyon Road to fight the blaze, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department Twitter page.

La Tuna Canyon Road was closed between Morning Glow Way and the Foothill (210) Freeway, officials said via Twitter.

Shortly after 3 p.m., the fire was contained but not fully extinguished, Los Angeles Fire officials said via Twitter.

The blaze burned through 5.2 acres, according to officials.

Firefighters from Glendale, Los Angeles and Los Angeles County were assisted at the scene by Los Angeles police and park rangers, as well as officials from the Angeles National Forest and the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority.

No injuries were reported, and no structures were threatened.

The cause remained under investigation.
