Firefighters knock down small brush fire
Firefighters contained a small brush fire Tuesday afternoon before it spread to nearby homes in a north Glendale neighborhood, police said.
The fire, which was reported at 3:29 p.m., engulfed a wood fence, palm trees and brush near homes in the 1300 block of North Howard Street, according to Glendale police.
But firefighters quickly knocked it down at 3:52 p.m. While no structures were damaged, three homes remained without power, Glendale fire spokeswoman Brandy Villanueva said.
A Glendale Water & Power crew was working to restore power to the homes.
Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire, Villanueva said.
