Franz Josef Weissmuller September 18, 1931 - March 8, 2013

The family of Franz Weissmuller mourns his passing on March 8, 2013 in Tarzana, California,
where his family prayed with him at the time of his death.

Franz was born September 18, 1931 in Modosch of the former Yugoslavia to Franz Weissmuller, Sr. and Katharina Rohrbacher Weissmuller. His early years as a teenager, with the Russian invasion and occupation of Yugoslavia, were wrought with much adversity for him and his family.

Franz married Veronika Buck, in Graz, Austria. They immigrated to the United States in 1956.
Franz worked as a successful painting contractor for over 50 years, enabling him and Veronika to fulfill their dream of providing their three children with higher education and build a business
in property ownership and management.

Franz was a hard worker who lived the American dream. He was devoted to his family and disciplined in his approach to life. His family and friends are sorry to say goodbye to this humble giant of a man.

Franz is survived by his wife, Veronika, children and their spouses, Kurt and Jennifer Weissmuller, Ingrid and Corey Harpole, and Helmut and Carrie Weissmuller; grandchildren, Connie, Kate, Connor, Elisabeth, Brittany, Cammeron, Lillia, and Nikki; brother and sister-in-law, Roland and Ingrid Weissmuller; niece and nephew, Krista and Mark Weissmuller; and great niece, Ava Weissmuller.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 16, 2013 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic
Church, 19855 Sherman Way, Winnetka, California. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association and / or Catholic Charities
would be appreciated.
