Free lunches to be offered to young Glendale library visitors
City and school officials are offering free lunches to children who visit the Glendale Central Library this summer.
Every weekday until July 31, children can listen to stories while eating the cold lunch, which comes with a sandwich, vegetable, fruit and carton of milk supplied by the Glendale Unified School District, said Theresa Robinett, senior library supervisor for children’s services.
“The families have been excited that they can combine their library visit and get lunch too,” Robinett said.
Up to 60 lunches will be provided each weekday, except for July 3, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
“We’re doing our big summer reading push to keep them reading all summer, so it’s a good partnership,” Robinett said. “We’re thrilled that they let us do this.”
