Glendale police sergeant makes lieutenant
Glendale Police Sgt. Danny Carver was promoted Wednesday to the rank of lieutenant and will eventually oversee operations in east Glendale.
Carver will remain in the Police Department’s Internal Affairs Unit— where he was working before his promotion — until March. He is expected to replace Lt. Tim Feeley, who is the East Glendale area commander.
Carver has held assignments as a patrol officer and detective for the Burglary/Auto Theft Detail, where he and his team worked on numerous high-profile cases.
His experience as a detective earned him an assignment on the Task Force for Regional Auto Theft Prevention, which targets illegitimate auto body shops and auto-theft operations statewide.
Carver, who’s a Glendale native, was promoted to sergeant in the field services division in 2006.
He also worked on a Property Bureau project and later managed the Police Department’s Emergency Dispatch Center.
His role changed again in 2012, when he was given the task of overseeing the recruitment and hiring of new personnel.
Carver grew up in La Crescenta, where he graduated from Crescenta Valley High School.
He has five children with his wife, who is his high-school sweetheart.
